Has Your Air Conditioned Been Serviced for Its Spring Maintenance Check?
Now is the perfect time to schedule your spring tune-up & safety check. Since it’s not too hot out, it is ideal for ensuring everything is running as it should before your air conditioning unit starts working hard to keep up with the hotter temperatures outside. On the other hand, perhaps your cooling unit is working just fine with no issues, so you may think a tune-up & safety check is not necessary. However, we highly recommend getting your air conditioning system serviced every spring as it ensures everything is running up to par with safety standards. It keeps your manufacturer’s warranty active as well.

Have You Changed the Batteries on the Thermostat?
If you haven’t done so already, it’s a good idea to head into the spring with a fresh set of batteries in your thermostat. Although thermostats are reprogrammed to signal you when the battery is approaching a low level, you never know if this will happen while at work or on vacation. It could be awfully uncomfortable coming home to a hot, stuffy house if that happened. Prevent this by staying several steps ahead with new batteries!
Have You Taken Off the Condenser Cover?
If you keep a protective cover on your condenser during wintertime, you don’t want to forget to remove it before using your air conditioner this season! We know this might sound obvious, but it is sometimes easy to forget due to the unit being located outdoors.
Have You Cleared the Area around the Condenser?
After you put up the condenser cover, be sure to make sure the area around the condenser is free and clear from any loose debris or items that can fly into the condenser’s fan blades. When the cooling unit is turned on, the condenser sucks in the air around it, so potential hazards like leaf buildup, weeds, plants, and loose items should not be anywhere in the vicinity.
Have You Cleaned the Vents?
Because vents tend to collect dust, you should perform a quick inspection and possibly vacuum a few of them out as necessary. You can clean a vent with a vacuum if required. If dust sticks to the metal grates, you can wipe these down with warm soapy water.
